On 28th November 1964 the new church was consecrated by the Bishop of Blackburn.

After 40 years of worshipping in the wooden building on what is now the front lawn, this was a dream come true for our parishioners!

60th Birthday Commemoration Service

What a wonderful occasion this was as friends old and new gathered around the Lord’s table in worshipful obedience, a fitting way to mark this very special anniversary.

We were thrilled to be joined by A Company of Voyces and their musical director Robin Stopford, familiar to us all as our most regular organist. It was such a treat to have our church music enhanced in this way, as was the opportunity to sing two brand new hymns, music composed by Robin and dedicated to our church and its people.

All Saints’ Church

60th Anniversary Project

To mark the 60th anniversary of the church, we plan to create an Anniversary Garden at the front of the church in the area which currently has a single planting bed with large bushes in the centre in front of the church’s foundation stone. This area will become a quiet area accessible to people of all ages where they can take a moment to pause, reflect or pray. It will be used all year round, before or after church services, during the day by church visitors or passers-by as they walk through the village or by small groups of children or young people when they meet.

Plans for the garden include; removal of the existing bushes and shrubs,  new paving stones, good quality seating, small shrubs or trees in garden pots or planters and a central decorative feature.

The work to develop this area will begin in Autumn 2024 and it is envisaged that completion will be in the summer of 2025.

We will of course provide regular updates as the project develops.

How will the project be funded?

In the past, projects such as the installation of the projector and screen and the improvements to the heating system have been successfully funded through donations and fundraising. Therefore, we are once again hoping that our congregation will generously support this project in the same way.

Donations can be made via the QR code below or in cash or cheque using the blue envelopes and the wall safe in church.
